Regional Manager
Mandro is a Regional Manager for Western Ground Improvement (WGI) with over 15 years of geotechnical engineering experience. He manages the Inland Empire and eastern Los Angeles region of Southern California to provide cost-effective ground improvement alternatives where applicable.

Mandro earned his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in civil engineering focusing on geotechnical-earthquake engineering from UCLA and worked on research projects involving the cyclic behavior of low-plasticity fine-grained soils. Mandro has published over 20 technical papers and has given presentations at conferences and workshops across the U.S. and worldwide. Mandro also serves as a course lecturer at UCLA.

Prior to joining WGI, Mandro worked as a geotechnical consultant at GeoPentech in Irvine, CA focusing on projects involving high-rise buildings, dams, tunnels, pipelines, and water treatment plants. This experience has helped Mandro establish strong relationships with geotechnical engineers, structural engineers, and architects throughout California’s private and public sector.

Mandro’s special interests include ground improvement for liquefaction mitigation.
