Scott McDevitt grew up outside of Philadelphia, PA and moved to Portland, Oregon in 1995. He is the Region Engineer for
Geopier Northwest, covering projects in Oregon and SW Washington.
Scott has over 25 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, mostly with private consulting firms in the Portland, Oregon area in roles ranging from staff to principal engineer. Most of that time was at GeoDesign/NV5, where he was employed for 19 years.
Scott has worked on a wide variety of projects, including schools, office/warehouses, high-rise buildings, retaining walls, water treatment facilities, new roads, and more. His key geotechnical expertise includes ground improvement design, seismic/liquefaction analysis, retaining wall design, deep and shallow foundation design, slope stability analysis, and settlement analysis.
Scott graduated with a BS in Civil Engineering from Penn State University and MS in Geotechnical Engineering from Portland State University.
