Nathan Zaporski

Nathan is the region engineer in Michigan for Geopier, bringing with him 8 years of experience in geotechnical engineering consulting. His experience includes over 100 high-strain dynamic load tests and wave equation analyses for driven piles, driven pile design, drilled shaft and ACIP pile design and verification using CSL, PIT, and TIP; micropile design, static load tests, support of excavation design, and geotechnical instrumentation with an emphasis on vibration monitoring. He has performed geotechnical investigations across the Midwest for commercial, industrial, telecommunications, infrastructure, energy, and trenchless utility projects, and has experience in project management, construction support/materials testing, specification development, laboratory compliance, forensic studies, thermal modeling of mass concrete, and multi-channel analysis of surface waves (MASW).
 

In addition to Nathan's engineering pursuits, he is a FAA Part 107 remote pilot with over 150 hours/650 miles of logged flight time supporting videography and photogrammetry projects. He is a proud alumnus of Northwestern University, where he earned degrees in Civil Engineering and Music Performance. During his time at Northwestern, Nathan contributed to research on the breakage mechanics of granular materials, with a focus on applications in hydraulic fracturing proppants. In his free time, Nathan values spending time with his wife and two sons, performing music, Lake Michigan, and birdwatching.
